I was laughing so hard I nearly wrecked my car.
The show was the one I often mention around here, The Intersection of Faith & Reason. Hosted by an "atheist for 27 years," Frank Pastore. He's a former pro baseball pitcher who had about as much success in baseball as he did in atheism - I think his career record for games won/lost was 10/58.
Today Frank's guest turned out to be nothing but the usual Xian log-rolling. i.e., a paid employee/daily regular with the Focus On The Family radio show pops up as a "very special guest" on Frank's show.
The V.S.G. was Juli Slattery, who Frank kept pimping as "a licensed clinical psychologist." She works for Focus On The Family, and can often be heard blubbering about various evils on the FOTF morning show.
Boy, did I learn some amazing stuff from Juli and the sex show.
--Looking at an IMAGE!!! of another person is the same as physically committing adultery.
--If you suspect your husband is secretly gawking at porn, search his PC using the terms "jpg" and "gif." (Gif? I haven't seen a porn gif since about 1997. Wonder why they didn't mention bmp?)
--The Song of Solomon was once restricted, by church law, to people over the age of 30. (WTF? How did they enforce THAT? Give you a Bible with the chapter missing and demand a birth certificate?)
--The S.O.S. came up because someone called in to ask about the Biblical position on oral sex. Juli said she had "extensively researched the Bible" and couldn't find any specific commandments against the practice.
Excuse me...
...But she also noted that parts of the S.O.S. sounded suspiciously like oral sex was going on.
Over at the FOTF website, Juli Slattery lists her credentials thusly: Slattery earned her Doctor of Psychology and Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at Florida Institute of Technology and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Biola University.
Don't be fooled by the "Biola University." When it was founded back in 1908, Biola didn't use the acronym - it was proudly known as "Bible Institute of Los Angeles." It was founded by one of God's Truly Privileged - Lyman Stewart, co-owner of the Union Oil Co. of California (aka Unocal).
