Atheists want to fly banners, put signs on buses, rent billboards to say, in effect, 'we exist' and it's reprehensible.

Christians leave leaflets, go door to door, harass passers by with the typical 'if you don't believe in God, you're screwed,' and atheists whiny assholes for taking issue with it.

Mentioning the historical inaccuracies in the Gospels is special pleading about peripheral details, but the similarities of Mithras, Isis, Dionysus, etc. to Jesus is invalid because those other myths are "special circumstances."

3. Seems like the concept of Free Speech

to some is the same concept of Freedom of Religion it only applies to those who agree with you.
I'm at a loss how beleivers can constantly whine about how atheists are haters and bigots toward all beleivers and then turn around and behave in the exact same fashion they complain about it, without blinking! I guess playing the Martyr is required to be a good believer.

4. We just don't understand the concept of "Free Speech"

Student brays out a prayer at a public high school graduation, despite umpteen court rulings forbidding it - FREE SPEECH!

Atheists using their own money to buy bus signs, aerial banners - YOU'RE SHOVING YOUR BIGOTED ATHEISM DOWN OUR THROATS! W-A-A-H!

And besides, atheists mouthing off is EXACTLY how the Russian Revolution got started. And we all know how that ended up.

5. A soft approach is more effective IMO.

Let them know you by your good deeds. Help at every opportunity and if religion comes up on one of these missions, I say that I am not religious at all. If they still want to talk to me about jeebsus, the atheist comes out and mocks them mercilessly. If they really piss me off, I'll get mean about it. Funny, but mean. I'm not saying that's the right way to handle it, but that seems to be the way it goes with me. I have friends of all faiths and love them all because their belief is not all that defines them, either.
