1. Ugh. I just saw looked at Prick's website.
http://theresponseusa.com/

Looks like a lot of time and resources have been put into something which will yield no tangible results.

3. ''A Dios rogando y con el mazo dando!''
My dad said that a LOT!

Miss him.

4. I never understood that phrase: God helps those who help themselves
If we're helping ourselves, where does God even fit in?

5. It works as a subtle way of saying it's all bullshit with plausible deniability.
Which is the way my father used it. I'm almost certain he was a closet atheist.

Either that, or the person saying it doesn't care much about logic.

8. It's a part of our conversation in my other journal.
About the Sinton, Tx. Butter Churn. Benjamin Franklin said it, but for some reason, Xians love quoting it as scripture and get flustered when you point out to them that it isn't. And you guys are right; it does depict a god that's rather off-hands with his creation. If only. The Judeo-Christian gawd is the biggest neurotic, micro-managing control freak in the history of deity creation.

6. Where does God fit in, indeed?
Edited on Fri Aug-05-11 04:58 PM by FiveGoodMen
I think that IS the point of the saying.

Phrase it like this: "Hmmmm. The people that God 'helps' always seem to be the ones who can help themselves..."

Or maybe just this: "Yup. 'God' helps those who help themselves" ;)

7. It's hyprocracy.
Help your neighbor in their time of need, but only if they can help themselves.
