READ MY BESTSELLER. THERE WILL BE A QUIZ LATER--GOD. TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: 'TIS BETTER TO LIGHT A CANDLE THAN TO CURSE THE DARKNESS.

Nimrods. That's not a part of scripture. That's Confucius.

3. One of my favorite ones is when people continuously...
say: "God helps those who help themselves." Ben Franklin.

6. Why does anyone SELL Bibles?
If it's their responsbility to "spread the good news", and they'll eventually be soaking the believers, why not just give 'em away?

4. My daughter's in the Coast Guard in Corpus and has...
taken me there three times before when I've visited her from my home in Boerne. I'll ask her to take pics when she goes there next time. They always have a different sermon quote and play soft hymns on their overhead and have the TV on to CBN or FOX. They have an announcement board that's covered with prayer requests. The majority of their help, like the town itself, are Hispanic and they speak Spanish constantly on the job. Don't know how their obviously teabagger employers stand it. I have to give the devil their due though; their buffet really is excellent, especially on Steak and Shrimp Friday.

5. Busted!
READ MY BESTSELLER. THERE WILL BE A QUIZ LATER--GOD

Blatant plagiarism. That's one of those stupid "God" billboards:

Let's meet at my house before the game - God

Don't make me come down there - God

And my favorite: Tell the kids about me - God

Hey, you're supposed to be omnipotent - tell 'em your own damn self.

IIRC, two competing God-orgs in Florida ended up suing each other over the billboards. So the whole thing had a happy ending.

And I think it works better to curse the darkness. Especially when it makes me stub my toe on the way to the bathroom at 3 AM.

Off-topic, but your mention of the food in that place is torturing my taste buds. Please don't mention fried okra and butterbeans...

Even more OT: I haven't been around much because I'm in a crunch at work. Right now I'm packing for a biz trip all next week. Ugh. Close enough to drive, but far enough away that I'll be in a hotel.

8. "Let's meet at my house before the game - God"...
only if "my house" means the place I buy beer at before the game :)
