Just a little post for myself. The closest I come to worshiping something has to be the Sun...

..or should I say Stars ?

They are such beautiful wondrous objects. The ability to change matter in such a simple and complex manner at the same time
has always brought me to a sense of awe.

I mean, I know how they work and how they are formed and even how they age and die but thinking more about them,
I suppose I do worship them... :)

Another little thought: If every second in an 85 year old person's life was an entire lifetime (one second=85years),
The sun would still be only a teenager.

note: (some Stars live longer, some white hot ones, shorter)

1. As Lawrence Krauss said:
"Forget Jesus, the stars died so you could be here today."

2. We know that the sun exists and makes life possible.
That's a whole hell of a lot more than can be said of god.

4. I think sun worship is one of the most evidence-based religions!
The sun *does* make it possible to survive; *does* give us light and warmth; *does* help to make crops grow, etc.; *does* cause both positive and negative consequences to the world; the earth *does* revolve around it, etc.

Much more concrete evidence for sun worship than for most faiths.

5. If people want to worship huge spherical gassy objects
I am available, for a nominal fee, to be your deity

8. I get you
I don't know why so many people look at the wonder of the natural world and have to give praise to some mystical entity. Isn't it enough to just be in awe over the universe itself?
