Tabloid. An Errol Morris documentary about Joyce McKinney - the nutcase former beauty queen who earned her 15 minutes of infamy back in the 70's. With "The Case of the Manacled Mormon."
Yes, that's "Manacled Mormon." Which should be enough to pique your interest. (Off-topic, but dammit, I HATE seeing that spelled as "peak your interest" or even worse "peek." Grrr! Only one phrase brings out my Grammar-Nazi more quickly: "They poured over the documents...")
Including actual photos of Mormon magic underwear and other interesting stuff.
If you're a fan, you know Morris makes 2 kinds of documentaries: fairly straightforward ones ("Fog of War" with Robert McNamara). And the other kind, where he just points the camera at crazy people and lets them talk. And talk. And talk...
This is the second kind. WARNING: I'm not responsible when you ruin the rug by spewing soda out your nostrils, or choke on your popcorn. Damn, this thing is hilarious. Every time you say - "This story can't get any crazier" - it does.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1704619/COMPLETELY PREDICTABLE UPDATE: According to this Artnews story datelined today, McKinney just sued Morris for misrepresenting her in the movie. Good luck, Joyce, since about 80% of the screentime is you happily flapping your gums. And those other people he interviewed have the photos of you, in what used to be called "compromising positions."
