"It's a miracle!" Air France jet explodes....

On the news this morning, the reporter said, "Some people are calling it a miracle." (the fact that everyone on board the plane survived.) An Air France spokesperson said, "It is *not* a miracle. The Air France staff did exactly what they were trained to do...clear the plane in less than 90 seconds."

Note: I think it took longer than 90 seconds, but I loved this smackdown of those who will cry God performed another miracle!

I hate hearing someone thank god for their loved one's life in a hospital after a team of surgeons and nurses spent 10 hours in surgery.

And if they all had died what would it have been then? When some live they say it was a miracle and "God was with us", but does that mean God wasn't with those who died? Did God hate the ones who burned to death in the explosion, or did they just not pray hard enough? Perhaps they were behind on their tithes to the church. :eyes:

It's a miracle that all of them survived. Just like it would have been a miracle if only a few had died. Or a miracle if half survived. Or a goddamn bloody fucking miracle if only a little 2-month-old baby had survived but the rest died in burning agony.

Even if everyone had died (and for the record, I'm very glad & impressed by the Air France crew that no one did), it would have been a miracle that no one else on the ground was hurt.

When you get to decide what constitutes a miracle, you'll be surprised at how many you can find.
