Taking the nation by storm

After the President suggested that Intelligent Design should be taught in schools along with evolution, I started paying more attention to the possible “intelligent” designers of the universe. Until recently it seemed that the Pastafarian theory (the universe was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or FSM) was in the forefront, but a new theory has emerged and is taking the nation by storm: the universe was designed by SimGod as a SimUniverse, so called because the theory allegedly has many parallels with the popular computer game, SimCity (although I believe it has more parallels to the ant farm kits popular among nerdy kids).

This theory posits that the universe was actually designed by a young deity as a game in which certain parameters were set and the universe populated, and the game set in motion. SimGod then sat back and watched the universe evolve for a few eons, but eventually lost interest and moved on to other pursuits, which no one has been able to identify. So, in essence, we were designed and put in motion as a lark by a nerdy god with a short attention span; we’re nothing more than a god’s toy run amok.

This theory fits most of what we know about the universe, and the evolution and eventual behavior of man and beast. I predict it will soon be taught in schools all over the country along with the FSM and evolution.

This is getting interesting, kiddies.
