to be an Honorary Chairman?

I just got this call from them asking for a $300-500 donation to be an honorary chairman for some sort of business roundtable. The guy on the line asked me if I wanted to continue to support the pro-business agenda of the Republican majority. I told him

1) I don't mind pro-business so long as it isn't anti-everything else. I will not support pro-business policies that support the exploitation of those who do the work, like Wal-Mart does. Nor will I support policies that allow corporations to enforce iron-clad contracts on their employees and customers while the corporations get off scot-free on their obligations to the same people.

2) The years that Bush has been in office have been financial hell on earth for me and my family. I would not support anything he or his supporters offer.

Perhaps I should have agreed so I could go to DC and get to tell it to the President* personally.

to get some sort of leadership award. The wanted to talk to me about a press release. I just figured they wanted a donation.
