I'm buying a house in DC (Should I B&B the guest suite?)
The house (completely renovated) is a couple of blocks from Eastern Market and 8th St. restaurants and shops, and a short walk to the Capitol. The guest suite has skylights and a private bath w/Jacuzzi & separate shower.

My daughter lives in Hollywood (movie make up artist), and she only visits once or twice a year now, which means that the guest room would be empty most of the time.

Should I B&B the guest suite?

1. Can you handle being a host?
Some of your guests, perhaps many of them might be hard to deal with. I think it takes a special personality to handel people who are rude, destructive and/or republican. Have you had any past experience with B&B's?

2. Decades of hospitality experience and hosting guests
I was the ballet guild prez for 10 years, and we hosted most of the parties and all of the visiting guest artists and guest conductors in our home.

We're hoping to attract traveling Unitarians and political liberals visiting DC.

Not a full-time deal, by any means, though: maybe just weekends at first and no more than 10-12 days per month.

3. I think if you are careful about
where you advertise, or mainly work through word of mouth, you'll do fine.
