Freelance writers/researchers, may I pick your brains?

Do you have endorsements of a particular online agency/job bank? I'm particularly interested in doing research and web page consulting/copywriting for small businesses.

I'm not looking to earn a fortune, but my health can no longer stand the stress of the daily commute and the unfortunate influx of politics into what was once a great job (:cry:).

So, have you found any that were better than the others? Would I be wiser to just register with several and see what happens?

Thank you for any wisdom you have and are willing to share. This is a big step for me but I know I can be successful on my terms with it.

1. You've asked a question I've wanted answered for a long time myself

I live in the middle of nowhere and like it. I'd prefer to work from home and since I'm used to running my own business, I can manage my time well enough to take on writing projects. But the job boards make me nervous. Because bad news spreads fast, I would like to think they are all on the up and up. But I prefer to hear from someone else that it worked well and what their strategies are.
