Enterprise 'In A Mirror, Darkly' May Feature Classic Ship from the Future
Sources connected to Star Trek: Enterprise have claimed that sets are being built for a Constitution Class starship, the USS Defiant, for the upcoming episode "In A Mirror, Darkly", reportedly set in the universe of "Mirror, Mirror" and Deep Space Nine's Intendant episodes.

Save Enterprise cites unnamed sources as stating that the Defiant, last seen disappearing on the original series episode "The Tholian Web", will appear in "In A Mirror, Darkly." Executive producer Manny Coto mentioned that viewers would see a live Tholian this season (story), so this is likely the episode he meant. Reportedly the area of space into which the Defiant was pulled during "The Tholian Web" brought it into the parallel universe, where doubles of everything in the familiar Star Trek universe often tend to be darker or more violent.

The sets currently under construction reportedly include a segment of the Bridge from the science station to viewscreen, a briefing room, a rec room, crew quarters, a corridor and a turbolift. In addition, the episode will feature a CGI Defiant battling starships from the 22nd century, including the ISS Avenger, an NX-class vessel from the mirror universe.

1. This show MUST get rid of the Tommy Lee Jones impersonator...

if it is to survive.

I believe the character's name is Trip, and he is played by a hamfisted idiot adopting the WORST southern U.S. accent I have EVER heard attempted by any actor in television or motion-picture history. Yes, that includes James Mason in "Mandingo". It makes my skin crawl to even try to watch or listen to this goon, which is why I haven't watched the show in many years.

If Enterprise really wants to continue as a series, they must get rid of his character.

I think a great season finale would be to have Trip working in engineering when the warp core explodes. A giant electric superconducting monkey wrench slices through the air, impaling our hayseed hero on a bulkhead. Since the superconducting electric wrench is not grounded, no one--especially the electrolyte-laden Dr. Phlox--can touch it or Commander Cornpone. They can only stand there tearful as they watch him die. Trip mumbles a few words, tells T'Pol that he has always secretely loved her, then passes on to the Great Civil War Reenactment and Monster Truck Show in the sky. A bloody bubble forms at his lips. The End. A PARAMOUNT TELEVISION PRODUCTION.

This episode would singlehandedly pull Enterprise out of its ratings slump.

ON EDIT: If anyone from Paramount is reading this post, you are welcome to this story idea. I offer it to you freely, and I release ALL claim to any payment or royalty for it. Just DO it, as soon as possible.

2. Funny.
Who knows what "real" southern accents will sound like a century from now? I've also been willing to forgive that bit of inauthenticity because I've found the actor to be very good. Not always well-written, but very well-acted.

5. As a Southerner, I approve of Trip's accent. There are a plethora
of different "Southern" accents, and Trip's accent has never struck me as disingenuous.

Jude Law's accent in Cold Mountain was the worst accent I have heard in recent years.

6. Second worst, maybe.
Ms. Kidman's in COLD MOUNTAIN was aggressively Scarlett O'Hara.

7. LOL... It was, but it was a decent "upper class, old family" accent that
still exists today and still sounds contrived here in the South.

Law's (who I love to watch) accent was so bad to me that I couldn't get into his character for the accent grating on my nerves.
