Anyone remember "Space: Above and Beyond" ?
I think it was another great sci-fi series cut before its time.

1. Yes, I do. I very much enjoyed it
It had a lot of interesting characters. Does anyone know if it's out on DVD?

2. I remember their Very Special Christmas Episode.
IMHO, that show had about as much plot as the X-wing computer game that came out around the same time.

3. Wow
You're officially the seventh person I know that loves that show. We're a select little club aren't we? :hi: I heard the show was just way too expensive to produce, something like 1 million per episode. It's a damn shame it came out before the Sci-Fi Channel. It's one of my favorite "could have been" nerd shows.

On a completely shallow note, I had the world's biggest crush on Vance. :loveya:

that would be a good one for Sci-Fi to pick up
and start making more. It was a good series that died before it reached its full potential.

6. I thought it was a pretty good show too.
I always wondered, though, about the name of the aliens ... "Chiggers"? It sounded like a cross between Chinese and ... well, you know. And, yes, I know a chigger is a bug, but it just seemed as though they could have used a little more discretion with the name.

It would be hard for them to do more episodes, since they all died in the last one.

My fav episode was the one with Gary Busey ... "Easy as pancakes." :)

8. Gary Busey makes everything better
He's like salsa.

I thought "Chiggers" was supposed to be like the use of "Japs" during WW2...a way to dehumanize the enemy. I actually liked it, I thought the use of the word made the show more realistic.

7. interesting show
the overt militarism was a little much but more than counterbalanced by the anti-corporate theme. The "chigger" thing, mentioned above was a bit of harsh realism, denigrating and demonizing the enemy are sop.

Another show with an anti-corporate theme ran and was canned at the same time, Earth 2. Coincidence? About that time I quit tv for good.
