I don't know of Kylie either, except that she's some lame pop-star used solely for a ratings boost in an otherwise doubly forgettable episode of WHO's increasingly lamentable revival.
Of note:
Other sci-fi writers make a point of praising their hardcore fans, but Davies can be very rude about them (look away now, Whovians). "It's like having a swarm of fucking mosquitoes buzzing around you. It doesn't stop you doing your job, but, Christ, they buzz!"
Then why does he bother to scribble out his toddler plots, if "plots" is even a worthwhile term because each episode is more or less the same doom'n'gloom prattle...? Never insult your consumers, that's rule #1. Never mind that, for an atheist, he has no qualms saying "Christ"...
He does make some good points in the article (e.g. Tate's age not being an issue and he's right, though let's not forget he's the same creep who said there'd be no Doctor under the age of 40 -- this man is
practicing ageism), but he'd be a far better TV director than writer...
