2. "Maximum Ice" by Kay Kenyon
Intriguing premise... drives me a little crazy that she doesn't capitalize "Earth" when mentioning the planet by name. But otherwise interesting.

Otherwise, I'm working on my own book the rest of the time. Epic fantasy, about 90% done with the manuscript.

6. Forgotten Realms stuff

War of the Spider Queen Book 3 (Condemnation? I confuse the titles), and Siege of Darkness (Book 3 of Legacy of the Drow).

I've really been wanting to read the Dune prequels, because I really love Dune but after several tries I just can't get through Heretics of Dune. The way they were going through Duncan gholas like rolls of toilet paper just got silly and I couldn't take it seriously. :silly: Do I need to read the rest of the series in order to get the prequels?

I think it really should have stopped at God-Emperor, myself.

11. House Atredies and Harkonnen are pretty good................
I'd say it gets into Dune-geek only territory after that. Not trying to be exclusive or snooty, but I found the story goes so deep into the minutiae of the original Herbert's story, that some casual reader may get lost or bored.

8. I'm in the middle of "Years of Rice and Salt", by KS Robinson
I'm also dead in the middle of "The Confusion", by Stephenson.

We just had a baby, and I discovered that it's cutting into my reading time. The Confusion is really, really hard to read five minutes at a time :-)

12. LoL
It always makes me happy to find a fellow Chalker fan. I just finished posting in another thread that these were the first Science Fiction novels I ever read.
