Trekkers or Trekkies?
I know the current designate for fans is Trekkers. But, in the early years fans were described as Trekkies. I have always been partial to the latter. The former suggest that fans are actually doing something, going where no one has gone before. When, in reality, we are just sitting on our duffs watching a T.V. show. Opinions?

1. Trekkies, by far
'trekkies' suggests we like Star Trek and have something approaching that of a life.

'trekkers', much like Berman's multitude of dreary trek series, take the franchise way too seriously. It's been drawn out and dead for years and devoid of emotive characters. It's funny that, in so many episodes, aliens are attacking at breakneck pace and Picard leisurely says "Course 314 mark 8... engage!" as if he's got nothing better to do!
