Poll question: Should Greg Bear write a sequel to Vitals?
Even though I didn't enjoy Vitals all that much, I keep thinking that it sets up an awesome sequel: a big battle between humanity and the global bacterial genetic network intelligence that is slowly gearing up to rub us all out. Our advantages: we think and act much faster. We have genetic engineering and other technologies. The bacteria advantages: they *are* genetic engineering, and they outnumber us a brazillion to one, and they've been around since the beginning of time, accumulating an embodied genetic toolkit.

The war would go on for generations. I have no idea how it would end. It seems like fodder for a very cool novel.

1. This is easily my most-unpopular poll ever...
Like, every other poll is a distant second place.

2. I haven't read Vitals...
so I abstained from voting. Bear is very hit-and-miss with me.
