Behold Star Trek's Big Bad Monster

How cool will it be to see a giant monster in a "Star Trek" movie? Seldom do sci fans get treated to seeing two different genres thrown in together like this. The only thing that could be cooler would be to have the Enterprise fighting Godzilla. Well, maybe we will get that in the sequel?

Okay, that last part was a joke.

If you are familiar with J.J. Abrams monster film, "Cloverfield", then you know that the director has an eye for bizarre looking monsters, and the one that is in his new "Star Trek" movie is a doozy. Of course, this should be expected, because the creature was designed by the same guy, Neville Page, who created the bug-like critter in "Cloverfield."

Japanese monster fans may think that the monster looks a lot like Biollante. It certainly has that giant pissed off plant feel to it.

Maybe it comes from the same planet as the Audrey II from "Little Shop of Horrors"?

Maybe the crew of the Enterprise should come back to Earth, (just like in Star Trek IV) and bring Godzilla back to fight the plant monster?

..............well?

Okay, I've had too much coffee.......

2. That would be the RAVENOUS Bugblatter Beast of Traal
The Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal is a creature that hails from the planet of Traal, and will eat anything. If you are to encounter one, the Guide tells you that it's impossible to slay, so you should wrap a towel around your head. This creature is so mind-bogglingly stupid that it assumes that if you can't see it, then it can't see you. Despite this, the guide did state, erroneously, that "ravenous Bugblatter beasts often make a very good meal for visiting tourists" in its article on the planet Traal. This led to deaths of those who took it literally. The guide's editors avoided lawsuit by summoning a poet to testify under oath that beauty was truth, truth beauty, and therefore prove that their claim, the nicer one, must be true. This led to life itself being held in contempt of court for being neither beautiful or true, and subsequently being removed from all those present at the trial.
