1. You ever see "It! The Terror From Beyond Space"?

Very close to the plot of "Alien" done in the 50's style.

Scared the crap out of me when I saw it as a kid in the theater.

2. It's the film that inspired Alien the most.

I love all those movies, cheesy or well done, it doesn't matter. One of my faves from back then is 20 Million Miles To Earth, with great Ray Harryhausen special effects.



I love horror and sci-fi movies, but it's the monster genre that has always appealed to me the most. If there's a creature in it I'm there! :)

3. I remember that movie

I remember watching that movie (on VHS). Some of the old black and white monster movies are classics. Incidentally, I tend to split the categories for monster and sci-fi movies into the following: classic-good, good, classic-bad, plain-bad, and painful-bad.
"Good" are enjoyable movies but probably not really classics or destined-to-be-classics (at least in your mind).
"Classic-good" are really good movies that have that extra something. I would put movies like King Kong (original), Godzilla (original Japanese version, not the butchered, edited American version of the original), and Metropolis in this category.
"Classic-bad" are movies that are pretty bad but in an entertaining way, like Plan 9 From Outer Space. If it's fun to watch it with a few friends and all of you heckle it throughout - like Mystery Science Theater, it's "Classic-bad".
"Plain-bad" are moves that are just a waste of time.
"Painful-bad" are movies that are so bad, they're difficult to watch - even if you're watching the Mystery Science Theater version (like "Santa Clause Conquers the Martians").
