What race from the Star Trek universe (excluding humans and Q) would you like to be, and why?

2. A joined Trill
The idea of living many lifetimes is interesting; and drawing up so many past experiences seems very cool.

3. Crap, I chose Q. Okay then, it would be Vulcan
I like their severity and dedication to logic, their extended lifespans, extra strength, and incredible ability to focus on matters at hand.

4. I'd *like* to be Vulcan.
It would be nice to have that intelligence, logic, and serenity. Plus, I would know who I was going to marry from the time I was little and wouldn't have to date! ;)

But I think I would probably actually be Klingon. I've got a real visceral, physical streak and have a thing for daggers.

5. A Risean
Serve drinks, lounge around at the beach all day, and have sex all night. Who needs to explore any other planets? Most of them have styrofoam rocks anyway.

14. Explanation--
I said "only not one of the lame ones."

The idea of an empathic/borderline-telepathic race is kinda neat, and far better a notion than full-on telepathy--which to my thinking has rarely been executed well in story or film.

The lameness comes in with Deanna Troi--who was basically the "let's point out the astoundingly obvious" gal on ST:TNG. And Majel "Oh god no, not another Lwaxana Troi episode!" Barrett Roddenberry... don't even get me started on her.

Let's see... who else? Matt McCoy's insanely smarmy asshole quarter-Betazoid, Devinoni Ral. And the catatonic one in that early episode where Marina Sirtis had to wear the bulky flying suit, "Night Terrors" (Andrus Hagan, played by John Vickery... who I always preferred as a Minbari in B5).

Anyway, just my thoughts on the matter.

9. Horta.
They may look like a big hairy paper-mache turd, but they can walk thru solid rock. And I've always wanted to know what it's like to be a silicon-based life form.
