I like the show Queer as Folk.... Who else watches?
I heard it was their last season, at number 5. I have watched it from the beginning. Today, did did a complete catch-up on the 5th season with my "On Demand" Control.

The community of characters really have evolved through the series....welll except Brian....he's stuck. Emmett is my favorite and Debbie gets on my nerves a bit. I love how they bring in politics. I find it an honest, groundbreaking show.

I heard that not all of the gay characters are gay in real life. Anyone know who is and isn't?

1. The show really grew on me
The first season I thought, "Oh great abunch of fuck monkeys with no redeeming value." But these characters really have grown and who ever writes this has got a pretty good bead on what motivates those of us who grew up gay. I still have some of season three to see (and maybe some of season 2 as well) but I have otherwise caught up to date.

All I know for sure on your other question is that the guy who plays Michael's husband is gay for real. I think the guy who plays Michael is as well. As to Brian and Justin, I recall reading somewhere that neither one is gay but I can't recall where so I don't know how accurate that is.

2. I like it
I don't get to watch it as much as I would like but I do like it.

My friend in California loves the British version and always wants me to find it and watch it. He's the one that turned me on to it. We were roommates years ago and he turned me on to gay-themed movies like "The Sum of Us" and Hedwig (now one of my favorite movies). Anyway, he recommended QAF and I got hooked.

We used to get east and west coast showtime feeds on our local cable. On Sundays I would watch the HBO east coast feed/line-up with my husband and afterwards I'd get on the phone and watch QAF and "The L Word" with my California buddy while watching the west coast Showtime feed. My husband teases me about my gay soap operas and movie fare.

As for your question:

Even two of the lead actors are openly gay: 23-year-old Randy Harrison, who's cast as Justin, and Peter Paige, who plays flamboyant friend Emmett. http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1589/is_2000_Oct_10/ai_65806214#continue

When openly-gay actor Robert Grant, who plays Michael Novotny’s (Hal Sparks) HIV+ lover Ben... http://www.fabmagazine.com/features/womenwet/
