Deadwood Fans: What's this about a couple of movies in
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 06:15 PM by mother earth
store? Now that they have pretty much said this is our final season, what've you heard about how many episodes will air & what's this talk of a finale of Deadwood movies (two I've heard) to wrap up the series?

This is outrageous! :spank: This is truly HBO's finest series & I, for one, am truly disappointed in the powers that be. They have no vision whatsoever, this series could continue forever! I have never in my life been so wrapped up in a series, I will cancel all plans to see each episode & then I must see it at least three times--how else does one garner each word and weigh it against the true intent of the speaker and the writers? :toast: This is Shakespeare, like no other series! This is truly their best yet. :applause:

1. I'm so beyond upset about this...
I only recently started watching this show, through renting the dvd's of season 1. I was blown away by this show. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the four seasons had been cut short by the powers that be.:mad::grr:

There are many links on the internet to others that are equally upset. There are quite a few people that have canceled their HBO service. Some from that group have stated they will renew if and only if HBO follows through on their promise to create and air two Deadwood films to wrap up the loose ends. I'm SERIOUSLY considering doing the same.

If you google "save deadwood" you will find a couple of the save deadwood sites that were created, as well as links to other sites with disgruntled fans.

2. speaking of language
I must see it at least three times--how else does one garner each word and weigh it against the true intent of the speaker and the writers?

A great quote worthy of it's inspiration.

Is it just me or has this season gotten even more ... uh, what's the word... (you know, when you have to listen very carefully to figure out what the speaker is not only saying but what they mean?). I don't recall season one being so hard on my brain -- or perhaps my brain has degenerated in the intervening season?

I have only watched the first episode from this season, and perhaps didn't even finish that -- the language really got to me. I admired it greatly, and especially the acting that went with it, but I found I had to pay too close attention.

I decided that I'll do what I did last season, when I discovered the show when it was nearly over -- sit down to a marathon session and catch them all at once. Then, my mind gets into the rhythm and I truly transport to Deadwood.
