1. The writing is very good, but..... |
|
not knowing anything about Mr. Sorkin or his past show(s)....I am thinking slowly and deliberately about where this show might go.
PS started watching this Studio 60 because I am a huge Steven Weber fan....

3. Sorkin is a great writer |
|
but I find myself distant to these characters still. In WW I fell in love with CJ and Sam in teh first episode and Charlie the moment he was on the screen. These characters are taking some work to appreciate. The exchanges are very sorkinesque and I have no doubt this series will be liked by the critics, if not the tv public.

4. I found Episode 1 only so-so |
|
I thought last night's episode was true Sorkin. The jab at Faux, the talk about rapture... I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I now have hope for this series. I wasn't so sure after the first episode.

5. Jury is still out for me |
|
But then, I'm still going through West Wing withdrawal. The characters aren't as personable (at least as of yet) as TWW, but I found the Gilbert and Sullivan number absolutely brilliant.
I'll stick with it and hope that it grows on me.

6. already found 1 recycled line |
|
when matt perry addresses the writing staff he says something to the effect of "there isn't a better time than now to be good at what you do." I remember hearing that same line during season 3 of the WW.
sorkin is famous for recycling lines and story themes. there was a lot of sports night that made its way to the WW.
I like the new show alot.

7. Keeps getting better IMHO... |
|
...Now that Amanda Peet is preggers, I wonder how/if they're going to deal with that in the plot? I don't know how many episodes have been shot so it could be a moot point, but it could throw a monkey wrench in the works....
