Survivor Tocantins: Episode 11 Discussion Thread

I did not see it yet. I'm watching it tonight. I'll try to post an update and my thoughts tomorrow. I am hoping for Coach. If anyone wants to post something talking about the episode, feel free. I won't be back until I have watched it.

1. Debbie

Well, my horse (Debbie) is now out of the race, and I can't say I'm sorry. IMO she got into the game too late, and was just too phony and insincere to make it work. Her turning on Coach worked against her, and she made Stephen nervous. If you make Stephen nervous, you are gone, because Stephen is totally in control of this game, right now. He's letting JT think they both are in control, but it's totally Stephen calling the shots.

And, I hope Stephen is smart enough not to take JT to the final two with him, because JT is too well liked and Stephen is too smart to fall into that trap. I have half a mind to think Stephen may be thinking of taking Coach or Taj to the final. With Coach in the final two, though Mr. Ego will be all over it, Stephen is sure to win. With Taj in the final two, I think Stephen still wins, because he's been the mastermind all along, and carried Taj to the end.

All in all, I think I did pretty well at DU's Pick a Survivor game for my first time out. :) I wasn't too bothered by Debbie until this episode, but that's obviously because she's been flying under the radar quite a bit.

My prediction is that Erinn goes next, followed by either JT or Coach. Neither JT nor Coach will see it coming, IMO.

4. Stephen HAS to be smart enough

to latch on to the votes on the popularity challenge. JT was voted most liked; Coach is the only one left in the "2 people you don't want to see win the game." Stephen is smart enough to know that the people voting are the jury. He will take Coach to the final 2 if he can. If he doesn't at least try, he deserves to fail.

2. What an excellent episode

ALthough it didn't end as I would have liked, but still, getting rid of Debbie was sort of a 1-2 punch, because it ooomphed both Debbie and Coach at the same time. I think he just got a reality check, no?

And that scene with Taj had me in tears! I'm glad they let everyone see someone.

But what do you think about Coach having his Asst Coach visit? That was a little odd. No family? Or just no family who would want to appear on TV with him? LOL

And didn't you love how he told Asst Coach how "they call me the dragonslayer!" - reminds me of the Cheney tactic of leaking a newspaper story and then going on TV and referring to the story in the newspaper to back him up.

3. Isn't it the kiss of death

on the show to be shown on "family" day talking strategy? Aren't those people usually out in a couple shows?
