Survivor 21 Ep 4: "Pulling the Trigger"
Edited on Thu Oct-07-10 02:24 AM by lazarus
Jimmy T proved that this is a social game, first and foremost. He just couldn't play the game, so he's gone. Also, how is it a football coach can throw a fishing net better than a fisherman?

Na Onka is continuing to prove that she's just a horrid human being. Just shameful. Hopefully the previews aren't misleading, and something horrid happens to her, like a complete mental breakdown causing her to leave the game. That would be nice.

Interesting challenge, but basically a retread of all the other challenges exactly like it. Kinda lame that they're still doing only one challenge per episode, but that does give us time to get to know the survivors better, so I guess I'm okay with it.

Brenda isn't playing quite as well as I'd like. Why she just gave Na Onka the HII is beyond me. I understood why Jill gave it to Marty, sort of, but Na was already in a tight alliance with Brenda, there was no reason to give up that kind of power.

Next week: Tribe switch! Our first one in several seasons. Sort of inevitable if they don't want an Ulong situation. It'll be interesting to see how the new tribes align. The younger tribe is only up two, but they could, potentially, be in the majority of both tribes. I doubt that will happen, though.

Edited to add:

Nay: "I figured it out and it's in my sock."
No, you didn't, and that's not your sock.

1. The right Jimmy goes home this week
This season will have to be known as the dug your own grave show. Other than Jimmie J, the other three evictions all went home because they dug their own grave. I think had each of those three just shut up, they might have stayed. Jimmy T, he could not shut up. Its a part of who he is. From the very start when everyone wants to kind of sit and think about Jimmie J going home, Jimmy T won;t stop. He is singing and giving some very unwelcomed hugs.

Meanwhile at the kiddie camp, Naonka is makign me hate her more and more. Its not a Richard Hatch or Johnie Fairplay kind of hate, where I like that they are there, its real dislike. She really is just a bully.

The challenge, well that was just sad. Some of it was probably due to Jimmie T's hearing problems. But overall, the older tribe is just flat out weak. I hope they win one soon, maybe they will use the bonus next week and win one. Anyway, bye Jimmie, you should have shut up.

2. Nay had a boo-hoo moment in the previews.

Either she's trying a pity ploy or karma bit her in the butt. The sooner she's gone the more comfortable I'll feel. I think she's a self-centered little brat. It looks like there will be either a merge or new teams made. I wonder if Burnett and staff decided old v. young was a bad move and made the competition too lopsided.

3. I thought the same thing
I always wonder if they set up the merge/switch date ahead of time or if its a reaction to how things play out to make it better. I mean its clearly one-sided right now.

4. I think it was pre-planned
it sort of has to be to avoid charges of "fixing the game". But it was rather inevitable that Espada would be down in numbers right now.

5. Tribe switch -- ergo enjoyed cast in my demo while I had them.
Can't say I feel too sorry for Mastermind Marty. Jill will find another delusional male to manipulate. Bring it on.

7. Exactly
Jill's strategy is to back a leader and work behind the scenes. She stays under the radar that way, at least for now. She will be fine for the merge, at least for the foreseeable future.

This season they seem to have a motherlode of wack-a-doodles, don't they?

6. a thought upon rewatching it tonight
The Reward this episode was ridiculously good. Fishing gear, cooking gear, and a tarp? That's three rewards right there. Maybe I'm giving the production staff too much credit, but it's almost as if they anticipated that a dominant tribe would gain possession of the MoP and refuse to ever use it, so they laid out so much bait that La Flor *had* to use it, it was just too good to pass up.
