Desperate Housewives Fans - Discuss 12/19 eppy
What did you think?

I was surprised with Bree's husband. I thought his big secret was going to be that he was gay. I never thought in a million years that he was an S&M addict!

Still dying to know Zach's family's dirty secrets. We obviously haven't heard the whole story yet with that.

Sucks next week is a repeat. :(

1. And what's up with Carlos?
What kind of crooked dealings is he mixed up in? Looks like they're finally going to figure that Mrs. Huber is gone, and isn't coming back.

2. From what I gathered.
His company was using slave labor to manufacture. He claimed he didn't know, that it was his partner, but then he told Gabrielle to burn all the papers. She also burned his passport, too, after looking at it with a strange look on her face. He needed it in order to be released to see his mother because of the flight risk.

4. She burned the passport, but did she burn the papers?
I don't recall seeing her do that.

3. I cannot figure out where they are going with any of this...
Do they want the characters to change? I can't picture Gabrielle as anything but a clothes loving shopaholic. Or Bree as anything but a control freak. I was surprised that S&M was the deal with her husband. I mean, LOOK at Bree! What man would give her up! Well, ok, except for the control freak part. But wasn't she always a control freak? Why'd he marry her in the first place if he couldn't stand it?

6. I just saw the first show and he asked her what happened to her.
He said she was fun-loving, food-burning, messy, etc, and now she's a "stepford" wife and her hair doesn't even move. Something must have happened to her.

I'm wondering if she wasn't raped and turned into a control freak to deal with it. I also wonder if religion plays a part in it. Maybe she believes that if she is "perfect", nothing bad will happen to her again.

I don't see Gaby as changing. I think she might actually get more self-centered as she uses Carlos' papers as blackmail, remaining married to him, but having an open marriage.

I love this show. I wish I had seen all of the episodes, but I've only seen the first and then the last four or five. I think it has a bad reputation, but I don't think it's that bad at all. The mystery in this show is wonderful.

7. they already answered why bree is the way she is
it has something to do with her mother's death and bree having to clean up the blood and feeling good and clean again when it was clean.

When that sandwich was about to drip off the nightstand in the hotel, I KNEW she'd never last!

9. Thanks. That might have been in the first episode I saw,
but I didn't know what they were talking about without a frame of reference.
