Survivor 22 Ep 4 "Don't You Work For Me?"
Edited on Thu Mar-10-11 01:56 AM by lazarus
Finally. He went out crying. Haele was uncomfortable and wanted me to fast forward through the blubbering, but I relished the sweet, sweet taste of his tears. That bastard came close to permanently ruining this show forever.

Ralph let his ego get the best of him. Stupid to let the other tribe know about his HII, but I understand the temptation to rub salt in the wound.

Good challenge, except that Zapatera is still much stronger than Omelette, and would have been even if they hadn't voted out Matt, I believe.

The duel was a great challenge, too. I figured Russhole was going to win, simply because he's competed in 49 challenges before tonight. But Team Jesus pulled it off.

Rob is, apparently, in complete control of his alliance now. The previews show the majority alliance on Zapatera splintering already, which is probably why Rob decided it was wise to trim his alliance already. And, from what we've seen, Andrea may already be back in the fold.

Former Federal Agent? Phil did a great job screwing up his position in the tribe. He really is a piece of work.

Good season so far.

Edited to add: That whole sequence where Rob found the HII was gold, Jerry. Getting everyone out of camp, making up a game to keep them occupied, lying about the constipation, the hard work he put into actually finding it, just a good old fashioned Boston Rob play. I'm starting to think he may have a chance at this.

Compare the two returnees: Ressell put together the exact same game three times, alienating his tribe so much that they threw a challenge to get rid of him. Rob, otoh, played the social game beautifully, putting together a strong alliance that he's in complete control of to the point of being able to boot one of his own alliance without putting anybody but Andrea being in a snit. Masterful performance so far.

1. Ometepe needs to win challenges!
They are screwed if they don't.

I like Ralph, but I can't see him going to the end. He may go far, though.

Do you think Matt may come back? I don't, because I think he will get weaker out there on Redemption Island the longer he stays. The first strong guy who is voted off will beat him.

It would be nice to see Ressell's harem voted out soon.

This is a good season.

2. Matt could conceivably come back
But probably won't, because the duels so far are completely gender-neutral. You don't have to be an athlete to win these things so far, just clear headed and quick with your hands.

I don't think it would take a strong guy to beat him, basically. Franquesqua almost beat him last week, after all.

5. Russell said he won't be back.

Like hell he won't. If Burnett made him an offer five minutes after he said it he would say yes before you could blink an eye. It's always been a big ego trip for him. The bawling and the vitriol came as no surprise to me, I expected it. He's a weasel and always will be. Last night's previews seemed to suggest his two groupies might be up to some tricks. Until I saw that it looked like they had accepted their inevitable fate but now they might be thinking they might possibly still have some hope. I doubt it very seriously. They have no friends left other than each other.

Now if they would only eliminate Secret Agent Man. :eyes:

3. Glad to see him go, but
I still think it was a bad move to throw a challenge that early. As for Russell, I like how he went out. I like the tears, followed by the last ditch move to throw people under the bus. Its how Russell played. He got beat because he never learned to change.

rob on the other hand, has played the game four time and brought a different game each time. His last two games have completely removed him fromt eh villain side and made him a hero. His first game at Marquesa was good, but not great. He lost control of his alliance and also lost because it took Paschal and Neleh an extra week to realize that they were hurting themselves. If only he could have talked them into seeing the light one week earlier, he may have had a chance. In All-Stars, he had the advantage of knowing everyone, so he used that to his advantage. In Heros v. villains, he played an amazing game, but Tyson's stupidity and his lack of familiarity with Russell cost him. This game, he is trying to plug in all those holes, but the only hole he can;t plug is that he team is so much physically weaker. Unless they start a few mental IC's, he is probably done for at the merge.

Rob has been fun to watch, but I am looking forward to watching Zapatera split apart. I think hatred of Russell was holding that tribe together. with him gone, they will fight. I still think Ralph is playing as bad a social game as russell. He keeps sayign things liek, I got it covered. I can take care of everything. Anyway, good season so far.

9. from the way it looks
throwing the challenge won't be a problem. Omelette's only hope at this point is a switch or a change in challenge styles. There's still too much strength required in these challenges. It's amazing how close they got with that pathetic sawing performance.

4. One more week of Special Agent Droopy Drawers anyway.
Yeah, good season so far. I was sorry to see Kristina go since she was really the only woman on the show in my demographic.

6. Did Phillip say he worked in "sanitation" in the military?
He said he won the second-highest medal awarded in peace-time...what in the world is that?

I'm thrilled Russell is gone...hope they don't find some way to bring him back!

8. someone looked that up
he got the second lowest medal, not highest. Not even close. And CBS can't verify that he ever worked as a special agent, too. At the most, we're pretty sure from him that all he did was process security clearances, which is grunt work for the most part.

7. I agree with everything you said...I never cared for Rob...
but I always knew he was smart. I could not stand Russell and never found him entertaining in the least. I CLAPPED like an idiot when he was booted. I look forward to hearing him at the reunion. HA!
