I think he should have voted out Natalie. Grant is likely to win RI, and the RI winner is likely to win the game if they make it to F3.

I thought they were clearly telegraphing an Ashley boot, and then she went and won immunity. Heh.

Interesting how they don't even pretend Phillip or Rob are in danger anymore. It's all a race to see who's going to be the third person in F3.

For the final RI challenge, I want something brutal. I hate that the challenges are so easy. They should be really suffering for a chance to reenter the game. The final challenge should be a "stand on a log for 3 days" kind of challenge, like they had in the early days of Survivor. I know they never went past 12 hours (in the UK edition, they went for 25), but still, make them work for it.

Glad Grant wasn't bitter. Like Ralph. Way to be a gentleman, Ralph. No, it's not "a game" anymore. It's just being petty.

And another thing. Way to be pissy, Matt. He sure didn't like being called out on throwing Andrea under the bus, did he?

1. I agree about Natalie.

But I think there are a lot of bitter people on that jury, or headed there from RI.

That is why I don't think Rob will win, even though he should. I think too many of them will be too bitter to vote for the best player. They will vote their anger and jealousy instead.

I keep wondering if they will respect him in the end for just dominating them OR if they will give it to the "other" player as payback.

I cannot believe they have fallen for him this long. There was a glimmer of hope a time or two that they would realize they don't need him but then they fall right back into his trap.

I think Matt or Mike stand the best chance to beat him. Natalie will be seen as riding along for nothing. Philip will be seen as too annoying to win. Andrea a traitor. Grant is a maybe and might gain points for getting back in.

3. if you watch the secret scenes

and read the post-boot interviews carefully, you see that Zap members on the jury have a lot of respect and goodwill towards Rob.

I think they more blame the rest of Ome for following him.

6. I find Grant hard to believe.

All this time he just played along as Rob's number two?

He never had a secret strategy that he could employ to beat Rob and to win the game?

He thought if he went to the finals that people would just vote for him to be the ultimate survivor, because he won physical challenges?

Grant is dumb. He has no business winning.

I found myself wondering last night if this wasn't a strategy that Grant and Rob cooked up together to gain some control over RI, knowing that there's likely one last challenge before that person comes back in the game.

It's probably too much to think that, even for Rob. Still, you know Rob had to be constantly figuring out a way he could make RI work for him.

4. RI

I really don't like RI, but I also don't see a RI person who comes back in as being a shoe-in for winning.

Rob has played a masterful game. He has out-maneuvered everyone, and controlled the game since the very first day. If the people on the jury have any integrity, they would respect his game play. You know he's going to emphasize that in his speech to the jury.

The person who ultimately wins RI were sent there by Rob--he beat that person at least once (twice in the case of Matt the Whiner) when it came to the regular game. They stayed alive on RI *solely* because they were good at those stupid puzzles. There is no social game for them, no alliances, no strategizing. They just have to make sure they don't finish their puzzle last. The whole concept of RI is lame, lame, lame. I hope the last RI challenge is super grueling at least, so that the person who ultimately comes back in has to actually earn it.

I think the game is Rob's to lose right now.

5. the problem is

the RI losers have all had lots of time to bond over their shared experience of being, well, losers. I think they mostly will be inclined to vote for a fellow loser.

Juries rarely reward just good game play. The social game is the biggest part of Survivor, and RI totally changed how the social game is done. For the worse, IMO, but it's definitely changed.

I'm not watching this season (can't stand Rob) so I don't know how anyone is doing. The local paper has weekly articles on Ashley since she's from here. This was in today's paper:

BENTON -- The limousine pulled up the driveway to the Underwood Strawberry and Vegetable Farm at 5:45 Friday morning.

Ashley Underwood had stayed overnight with her parents at the house she grew up in. Now, joined by her boyfriend, Chris Markwood, Underwood boarded the limo just after 6 a.m. and headed south to the Portland Jetport.

She was bound for New York City, where the answer to a lingering question will soon be revealed: Is Underwood the "Sole Survivor?"

Local family and friends of the Benton native are eagerly waiting to find out. Underwood, 26, is among the handful of finalists who are in the running to win the $1 million prize in tonight's season finale of "Survivor: Redemption Island," at 8 p.m. on CBS.

After the limo provided by CBS arrived Friday to take Underwood to the airport, her family prepared for the trip to New York as well, according to parents, Chuck and Theresa Underwood. They planned to leave Saturday morning with sons Justin and Isaiah, to be in New York for the weekend.

Ashley planned to meet Friday with her sister, Lindsay, who lives in New York City, Chuck Underwood said.

Tonight, the family will be among those in the theater as they watch the finale, and then Ashley will join the other castaways on stage for the reunion.

13. I used to dislike Rob.

I didn't like it that he kept coming back. I hated it when he and Amber showed up on The Amazing Race.

But he has played a masterful game this season, and deserves to win. I am rooting for Rob all the way.

However, if that stinking Russell shows up again, I will skip the season.

10. Another Ashley article

Benton native Ashley Underwood will compete for $1 million in tonight's "Survivor: Redemption Island" finale. Win, lose or draw, Ashley will play a major part in the two-hour episode and reunion show broadcast live from New York City.

Ashley's biggest threat is her strongest ally -- "Survivor" legend "Boston Rob" Mariano, a four-time player who has performed nearly flawlessly this year. Rob has fashioned his endgame since day one, deftly building trust and forming alliances. Ashley remains the only player we haven't seen Rob covertly promise to take to the end.

Ashley, a 26-year-old former Miss Maine USA and basketball player for Cony High School, the University of Maine and a professional league in Switzerland, may find her best shot to win courtesy of this season's new gameplay element, Redemption Island. Four castaways are stuck there, and one will re-enter the game during the finale and likely come gunning for Rob.

It remains unclear when this spurned player will rejoin the action, but the earlier it happens, the better chance Ashley has to help eliminate Rob. Her best chance is to follow a disgruntled Redemption Island player's likely lead and realize Rob's effortless trustworthiness is not what it seems.

"If Ashley continues to win her way to the end, she will have a very strong case," host Jeff Probst wrote on his blog this week. "I would definitely consider voting for her for the money, unless she was up against Rob."

11. Will the remaining RI losers be gone completely?

Or will they go to the jury?

If they become jury members I suspect they will all vote against B Rob for his perceived treachery.
And if Rob goes down it is almost anyone's game.

And I think they'll vote for Rob. He didn't betray anyone on Zap, so they have no reason to be bitter. Plus, they give him credit for running things, and have no respect for the sheep following him. (Their perspective, i don't think they're sheep.)

Matt, of course, is a loose cannon. I actually have this weird idea that he may vote for Rob. I can't explain it, I just have this intuition. Probably not, but he may consider it.

Andrea will vote for Rob, as she's a player and will respect game play.

Grant is a pro athlete, he'll realize it's all business. Vote for Rob.

I'm going to assume the other Ome on the jury is Ashley, and she'll vote for Natalie.

All of this is out the window if the F3 isn't Rob/Phile/Natalie.
