I started watching this today on On Demand. It's an IFC mini series (three small movies really) on Carlos the Jackal. The first part covers his early days and has a lot of stuff I never knew. The second part covers the OPEC hostage crises... I was just a kid (12 or 13) when this happened but I remember it and this fills in a lot about it I forgot or did not know. I still have another 30 minutes or so for part 2. Not sure what part 3 covers but I'm real interested in seeing it.
Acting - The acting is really top notch, I don't think I know any of the actors but everyone does a great job. I especially love the girl who helps in the OPEC hostage crises, she does an awesome job, I have to find out who she is and what else she has done.
Script - Script is well done... Some parts are pretty much made up since no one knows actual conversations but they point this out at the start of each episode. They make use of actual news footage from the events which adds a really nice touch. Large parts of it are sub-titled... Those that do not like this, beware.
Cinematography - Pretty straight forward, nothing special but fully competent.
Directing - Again, pretty straight forward, nothing special but fully competent.
Nudity and adult language.
Bottom Line - I really like this, the subject matter is fascinating and presented from a point of view that makes you think. The outstanding acting knocks this one out of the park and really brings it home. Highly recommend catching this if you can.
