The new Survivor cast has been revealed on the Early Show
So far, what we know is, 20 castaways, one tribe, and only 17 will make it to the end of the first episode.

As I've predicted, looks like two get booted right off the bat. I think they do that, then split into tribes, have a challenge, and vote someone off.

Oh, and three guys from Alabama. We go 9 seasons without an Alabama survivor, and now we have three?

2. They're casting Survivor 11, Laz.

I saw an ad on CBS last night to "apply at cbs.com."

Arthritis really is the pits, isn't it? I don't have a
physical barrier to applying. I guess I'm too much of a loner
to be any good at the social part of the game.

7. yup
I have no doubt I'd do very, very well in this game if I was in decent physical shape.

Ah well...

8. No doubt.

Maybe you'll get better one of these days and then...

I know you're big and bald with a goatee, right? You could
seriously be the anti-hero that the women all adore. (Rupert??)

A character anyway, you know what I mean?

11. I'd be a mix
of Brian and Richard, with a bit of Chris thrown in. Rupert for the big bear look, maybe, but that's it. :D

12. You're not in sales, are you?

Honing in on people's needs and weak spots? With these two
as your role models it'd be real, real hard for me to root
for you.

Which Chris? Why am I blanking on Chris?

13. I was, actually
I was one of the top managers in RadioShack at one time. Had even better sales people than I did.

I had ethics, unfortunately, so I didn't sell quite as hard as I could have. For instance, I'd never use a kid to sell toys to a parent. And I told my salespeople the same thing. It's just not right.

Chris is the guy who just won.

The key to Brian and Richard (and Chris) is that they realised it's a game. I wouldn't be out there to make friends, or for the experience.

People who let emotions get to them are just lambs for slaughtering. People who forget that lying and misdirection are part of the game are fooling themselves and will be treated mercilessly.

14. See what a memorable impression Chris made on me?
I was so disappointed about how that all turned out I
had completely blocked him out of my mind.

I could never do sales. I'm too much not
good around people. I get the heebie jeebies and want
to be anywhere else.

Wish we could have a countdown someplace. 27 more
days until Survivor. 25 more days until survivor.

32 days until pitchers and catchers report.

3. Lots of rumors
Many are talking that one or two quit on the first day. This may be why Probst made a big stink about quitting during the finale.

5. please please PLEASE
be careful about "rumours" when discussing reality TV shows. Never know when they're going to turn out to be spoilers.

Thanks, Doc!

9. Big difference between a Spoiler and a Rumor (Maybe a SPOILER for Lazarus)
I hope I did not spoil something for you. If I did, I am sorry. That said, nothing in that post was a spoiler. If you are merely trying to caution me, thank you for the warning. It was not needed. I am a very big believer in spoilers. I always post SPOILER in the thread title or subject when I do.

As I understand it, a "spoiler" is based upon information not published or made available by CBS/Mark Brunett productions. It spoils the show because you learn info that the producers did not want you to know going in.

A rumor is based on fan chatter or deduction based upon info made public by the producers.

I consider myself an avid survivor geek and I certainly try to obtain spoiler info. This info does not come from any spoiler source, merely rumors around the office and talks with friends.

There are several great spoiler sources. I do have some good spoiler info on this Survivor season. I post regularly at several survivor forums. If you are interested, let me know and I'll PM you some info and web sites.

This info is pretty much based on logic. Mark Brunett has stated that three people are gone during the first episode. Probst made the big stink about people quiting during the finale. Brunett also has leaked that this year the survivors are truly lost with no help. No maps, no knives, no help and no direction from the producers. With all this info, many have deduced that two people quit because the show will be really hard.

10. Great!
I think we're right on the same page. That was simply a request, not a criticism or anything.

Currently, I read realitynewsonline.com, and I'm admin of a private Survivor board (we had to start our own because we were so tired of spoilers back in the days of Pearl Islands and Amazon).

I do think it's possible people quit. But I also think it's possible that they do what the Belgians did: eliminate two right at the start of the season.

Glad we got that cleared up about spoilers vs rumours. Thanks for responding.

6. Starts after the Superbowl
I had a friend convince me to try Survivor 2, and look at me now. :D

You really should rent the first season, that's still the best.
