Anyone Know How To Get ANY Federal Grants For Animal Rescue???
My son currently is involved with a famous person who started a local rescue farm, but may be moving soon. He would like to continue with the Animal Rescue Farm but doesn't really have the money to keep it going.

The famous person lent her name and needed to make about 4 appearances a year to promote the place and now it's in danger of getting shut down. He currently lives there and cares for all the animals. Horses, cows, goats, chickens... etc.

Any help, greatly appreciated!

1. Why doesn't the famous person continue to pay for their care?

You say she started the farm. Why would she have to lend her name to the farm she started?

2. He can file for tax exempt status
that can help tremendously. 501(C) status would speed recognition for any grants he seeks from the federal government, also.

Animal rescue is absolutely acceptable as a non-profit. It's fairly simple to apply yourself, but if the accounting is daunting, it shouldn't cost much for the services of a bookkeeper. +, that's deductible!

3. look for foundations and wealthy major donors--fed a near impossible source
go to the foundation center (google it) and see if you can get into their database to see who's given re animal welfare. When you find some, if you are otherwise eligible, look on their boards for anyone you know. And ask your local community foundation for suggestions.

The famous person really ought to help contact their rich friends, if they've got any. That's where the money is (and always has been.)

I've raised tens of millions in grant dollars over 15 years, so that's my quick prof opinion. good luck!

5. Rich Person Has Contacts... I Just Googled For Federal Grants & They
said they would let me download an application, but apparently I went to the wrong place. Do I google foundation center for animals?

Millions, WOW, was it difficult?
