Bartering for a Husqvarna GT2254 lawn tractor
I'm an accountant and a client has one that's 4 years old and now in storage. It was $2400 new and includes a dump trailer. We're trying to decide on a value. Any idea where I can find out what one is worth now?? I mow approx 4 acres and ruined my 15 year old mower when I hit a stump. Paying someone to mow is not feasible.

Thanks!

1. 4 acres . . . that is a lot of mowing
you got your money's worth on your old mower if it mowed that much for 15 years . . .

2. Somewhere around 1/2 of that, if the thing has been maintained well
That trailer is a handy thing. I've got four acres and it's nice to have for lugging stuff.

I'd think $1,200 or so if it hasn't been beaten up or used more than "normal". I have an engine hour meter on mine, and do about 75 hours a year, on average.

3. Thanks!
I was thinking about $1200. I'm looking forward to a tractor that I can put a plow on and the trailer will be a life saver. Last spring I broke my nose trying to get bales of peat moss down to the garden. (don't ask...) I also have to move bags of salt for the water softener and haul trash cans down the drive to the road and I'm not getting any younger.

Also, the 15 year old mower belonged to a friend with a small yard. It wasn't used for several years when she gave it to me and to get it running, I had to have the carb cleaned. It lasted 1/2 a season for me. Since I hit the stump, it runs only in 1st or 7th speed and the oil spray makes it look like a CSI crime scene. ;-)

This summer I'll look for plow blades and tire chains for sale cheap. Any other implements you that are helpful? I have raised garden beds and would like to be able to gather all the leaves in the yard to compost. (It comes with a trailer.)

5. I was a Husky dealer for 25+ years...now retired....
PM and I'll walk you through it.....First off.. Where was it purchased...If the receipt is a Loew's, or other box store, run don't walk away....To hit the price breaks, there are major differences between the products....the unit pictured lacks a front bumper...that was one of the first price cuts
