An archaic smile, a divine state.

3. Goats are just wonderful!
I bought 3 young nubians about a month ago. Named them Henry, Ada and Fiona! They are so, so cute. Call our Ma-a-a-a-a-a, whenever they see me. Endlessly amusing! I am hoping in a year or so, I can have goat milk, butter and cheese! In the mean time, just gotta love, love them. Cannot help it. So cute.

4. I had goats for quite some time
When my family was growing up, we always had goats. We had five different kinds, nubian, toggenburg, alpine, and two other types that I have since forgotten! I sure do miss them. All except the chewing on the clothes, the jumping of fences, etc!

5. Spaldeen, welcome to DU!
I have never had the pleasure of being around goats, but know that I'd adore them like mischievous children. I mean, who could not love a face like that?

I love goat milk and cheese too!

However, I've seen plenty of mis-managed goat farms that don't properly rotate grazing so that the land becomes a moonscape.

6. yes!
Thank you guys for having this forum here!

Being that we had thirty head of goat at the maximum (which, when you are 12 or 13 and helping around with other duties, still seems like a lot), we never had much problem with the moonscape effect. They would strip any juniper trees (and any deadly nightshade) that were within reach of their stomachs, but they grow like weeds around these parts anyways.

Yeah about that goat milk? Cow's milk still tastes strange to me! :)
