3. Heat it up.
Put the jar in a pot of water and let it simmer for a while or in the microwave. Depending on the size of the jar, zapping it 30 seconds at a time until it melts down works well.

4. Heat up the jar in a small pot of warm water.
THere's no harm in crystalized honey. It stays good for thousands of years, so there's no need to worry, but if you want it to be runny just warm the jar.

9. Thanks everyone - that was quick. Great granddaughter found it in
the shelf in the fridge and wanted some but it was crystallized so next time she comes I will know how to fix it for her.

15. You should never refrigerate honey. Store at room temperature.

11. I ad just 2 or 3 drops of water and then heat it all up (jar in hot water in saucepan on stove)
until all the crystals melt. I add the water because, at least in this dry climate, I think drying out has to be a factor in this problem. But it's just the tiniest amount.

12. Ever make honey butter? Mix butter with the honey..blend it
well. Great on toast and doesn't run like honey does by itself...with today's oleo being about half water, you almost have to use real butter. I tried Imperial and Parkay which used to work but they've got too much water in them now and they won't blend with the honey.

16. Preserve your dead in honey!
Remember the scene in the 1960s film Cleopatra when Caesar (Rex Harrison) looks at the body of Alexander the Great? The sarcophagus was made of carved quartx crystal. The body of Alexander was contained in the semi-transparent sarcophagus filled with the finest honey! My med prof BFM told me it was totally possible because honey is an anti-bacterial substance.

Yes, melt it.

21. Not just possible, most likely.
The bodies of cats (part of the Bast cult) have been found in tombs perfectly preserved in sealed jars of honey and the honey was still good. Honey can be and is used for wound dressing. It has remarkable anti-bacterial qualities.

19. I've taken a jar of crystallized honey, removed the lid, & warmed it in the microwave on half-power.
Watch it carefully . . . it re-liquifies quickly in the microwave.
