Heard today the first Boomer retired on July 7th, 2005! It's started!

1. Ouch! Another reminder of how fast the years are going by

:-). My husband wants to retire next year (he is 50) and I have been unemployed since we moved here four years ago, so I don't think there will be much to adjust to. There are alot of things we want to do while we are still "young" and healthy.

2. What do they mean the "first boomer"?

LOTS of boomers have retired already!

3. Yes--what is this first stuff?

I always say that I was one of the first boomers--I was born 266 days after the bombing of Nagasaki. I once asked my mother if she and my father had said, "The war's over, let's have a kid.!" She said, "Something like that."

And I retired way back in 2003.
