Now I don't. Of course they've gotten much gorier than they were when I was younger (1960's-70's).

I used to like war movies a lot, too, but then 9/11 ruined that--Hollywood changed their outlook on war to present war movies more jingo-istically (nice word ).

Anyway, I can't take gore in the movies like I used to. Does anybody else feel this way? Is this just a thing about getting older?

2. I loved the real old ones - Lon Chaney, Vincent Price, Peter Lorrie,
Boris Karloff. And others I can't remember. When these guys stopped making horror movies, I stopped watching. I tried over the years. Most of them were just so stupid I kicked myself for watching. Some were good though, but not too many.

3. I used to watch "Chiller Theater" religiously
This was a Sat. night locally hosted horror movie show.

Now, the last scary movie I saw was "Silence of the Lambs" when it came out. I had to watch it because my best friend's husband and daughter were extras! I love Sci Fi movies, but haven't watched a horror flick in a long, long time.

4. For me it was "Shock Theater", Saturday afternoon that was.
And "Out of This World" which was on late Saturday night.

When I saw "The Screaming Skull" on TV it really scared me.

When I saw it on video thirty-odd years later, it seemed unbelievably hokey.
