Need help with birds flying into my windows.
I'm posting this in several groups because I don't know if there will be much help. We have a sunroom with windows on 3 sides, one which is a big bay window. We have lots of birds around here-I suppose it's my fault because I feed them twice a week. Mostly it's mourning doves that fly into the windows and I know that they do it because they're seeing their reflections or the other birds through the opposite window. Fortunately, 99% of the time, they survive.

So, does anyone have any ideas on how to keep them from thinking the windows are a throughway? Any idea will be taken into consideration because I'm desperate. Thanks in advance.

Jo

1. Where else did you post this? If you can please give me links
so I can follow responses you get. I have the same issue and have lost a couple of birds this year.

2. some things to try...

- hang danglers or suncatchers
- widow cling stickers (the reusable kind that are made of plastic but dont have adhesive)
- get a cat and let them sit in the windows
- put screens on the windows to reduce reflection

I dont know if those would help you, but they have worked at my home...

Good luck!

My mom had the same problem and put the silhouette of a hawk at the top corner of the window. worked great.

4. THey see the reflection of the sky.
The trick is to make that sky less friendly. I like the hawk silhouettes. Also owl dummies will keep them away.
