Any other rock climbers here?
I spent a good portion of my 20's climbing at the New River Gorge in WV. Also Seneca Rocks and many areas in NC. Now I have kids and a career. I still climb, but mostly inside. Miss it, though.

1. Novice clmber here...
living in VA. I climb to in WV, but haven't made it to Seneca rocks yet...I do most of my climbing in Bozoo because it is so close to where I live.

I mostly have done indoor climbing, but have made a few trips to CO to climb.

2. Close is good, especially when you are learning.
Seneca is intimidating. I climbed there as a beginner and got really scared. Save that for when you feel solid and go with someone you really trust. The New is not so scary, it is just really *%#$!* hard. Few routes under 5.10, although I have heard that there has been recent development in the more moderate range, so maybe that is less of a problem these days. The New is a treat, when you are ready.

3. Ex-climber here
I haven't been on the rock in years and my gear is gathering dust in one of my closets somewhere. :-(

I was never too hardcore, mostly top roping, bouldering and I seconded a few routes. I did all my climbing up NH way.

4. Addict
Hey guys,
Huge climbing addict here. I live in Colorado. My big passion is ski mountaineering, but I do a lot of rock climbing, ice climbing, and general mountaineering too.

5. Not me, but my husband climbs.
We used to live near the Gunks in NY. He is a great climber. Him and his ex were well known in the area about 10yrs ago. He also loves to climb in Kentucky and West Virginia. The past few years he has gotten into ice climbing. He was going in the Catskills. Marriage and three kids have cramped his style a little, but I have no doubt that he will be out there with my boys in a few years. I found out that I am very afraid of heights. I would love to do it, but start to panic when I get as high as I am tall. I'm ok in the gym though.

6. Used to
climb in southwest VA and at Seneca during and after college, made a few trips out west to Devil's Tower, the Needles, and a few other places. Tore up my knee a few years ago, and that was pretty much the end of my career.
