Savage ML10-ii Smokeless Powder Muzzleloader - anybody have experience with one |
|
I have several black powder rifles and two black powder shotguns. The only game I have ever taken with one is pigs. But they're fun to shoot not so much fun to clean. I'm looking into one of these muzzle loaders that can use smokeless powder.
So I'm wondering - has anyone fired one of these? What loads did you use? What muzzle velocities and kinetic energies can you realistically expect? How much can you "push" the loads? Can you put it away after use without cleaning like they advertise?

1. Have you tried Blackhorn 209 as a black powder substitute? |
|
I've never used the Savage, but I use BH 209 in my inline. It's super clean and you can use regular old Hoppes #9 for clean up. Best black powder substitute I've yet found.

But my son has a Knight Rolling Block and he swears by that stuff.
