Thinking about a 1911 build....

anyone have ideas/suggestions/experience with this? I've been looking around, mostly at Brownell's, at slide/frame sets and parts kits.

If anyone has any information on other places to look, good brands/bad brands of frames/slides/parts; ideas for customizations they do or don't like... I'd love to hear them!

Also, will humbly accept and greatly appreciate any advice offered.

I've been shooting for five years or so, but this will be my first experience with a 1911-style. Have assembled an AR15 style rifle, no problems. Pretty good at following directions. I ..think.. this project is within the realm of possibility?
