Goddammit, why can't they just tell us this?


It's NOT on the fucking website. I spent a half-hour Googling to no avail, and finally had to reverse-engineer the number from a ballistics calculator.

I want to sight in my 10/22 for 50 yards. The local range is indoor and goes out only to 50 feet. So all I wanted to know was how low to I have to set it at 15 yards!

Is that too much to ask???

Fuckers. When the bullet is that slow, light, and aerodynamics, you need a better data interval than 50 yards!

1. Sub-sonic ammo is always a bitch to find reliable calculations for.

I simply use a Microsoft Excel sheet to work out my charts. But I know going in that I do not have an absolutely accurate trajectory once the bullet falls sub-sonic. It's a best guess method for me at that point.

But, none of my rifles shoot subsonic. .223, .308, 30-06 and .338 Lapua.

2. Personally, I won't touch Remington "Golden Bullets" with a bargepole

I've had a 525-round "value pack" (purchased at Cabela's) sitting in my gunsafe for well over three years, ever since I tried to shoot several dozen of them and had to throw out so many because of bad primers that I decided that particular game wasn't worth the candle. Talking to other shooters, I learned they'd had similar experiences and stopped using the round as a result.

I used to get a couple-three duds in a box when I used to go shooting a lot when I lived in South Dakota, but the price was right and we were just fooling around, so it didn't matter to us.

I guess that's why it was a "value pack" of 525 rounds. :D

If I was counting on it for life and death, I'd be using some quality solids, not plinking hollowpoints. :-)
