skunked it seems the first time hunting morels. I can't wait to find my first one of the year. I'm not sure which I like most eating them or hunting them.

My parents always took me to pick in the woods in a nearby park in NYC. Now that I live in Colorado, I'm not so familiar with safe varieties. In fact, I was picking boletes. But just now I did a search for them and found this article explaining that our orange top boletes may not be so safe. Oy. http://www.bluewillowpages.com/mushroomexpert/rules_for_boletes.html

I guess it's time to join the mycological society at the botanical gardens!

There's nothing better than a wild mushroom for flavor!
