Went hiking this past weekend
Tumbledown pond up in Maine

Imagine this buried in snow and you'll get an idea what it was like.

Lot of snow left up this a ways, made for slow going, but a good time was had by all.

Anyone else been doing any hiking/snowshoeing this winter?

1. I spent Friday skiing through groves of the world's biggest trees...
...in Sequoia NP. You can rent skiis or snowshoes at the lodge. My pics are still at the developer. They had been having huge amounts of snow last week so the skiing was great and the trees were frosted with thick layers of snow.

2. Cool
If the weather holds I may head back up north this weekend for two, three days. I don't have a digital camera or I would post pics.

3. Just got back from a week near Yosemite
Hiked every day outside of the park in the Sequoia National Forest. The waterfalls were awesome due to all of the rain we have had in CA this year. Here's one: It's the Lewis Creek Trail and I think these falls are the Red Rock Falls. Raindrops on the digital camera lens :-(

4. I'm currently attempting a thru hike on the appalachian trail
I'm taking the day off at a place called standing bear farm about 30 miles south of Hot Springs NC. Come about 250 miles into the trail from Springer Mt in Dawsonville GA. Still got alittle less than 2000 miles left to go before I reach Mt. Katahdin in Maine. Havin a great time.

5. I thru hiked in 1991
I'm jealous. You are going to have a great summer. Keep us updated if you can. I'd love to hear some trail stories.

Is GhostThatWalks your trail name?
