:scared:

That'll dislocate your wrist if you're not careful. The .600 Nitro Express is the most powerful elephant gun cartridge ever made.

1. Contender in 458 win
I had the chance to shoot a 14 inch contender in full length 458 win mag. I believe i could hunt with it, just hate the thought of sighting it in.

3. What is the purpose of that, besides to snap your wrists?
I don't get it. I thought hand guns were supposed to be, well, handy. Why would anyone want one that big and that hard to use?

4. The "boom" factor
Some folks just gotta make the biggest "bang" at the range. Never saw the appeal myself. A 44 mag has done everything I've ever wanted a handgun to do and more, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

5. Was this gun actually ever fired?
Or was it built under the commission of some rich guy who wanted bragging rights.

Seems like overkill to me.

7. There's the story "other kids" told us about getting hit in the face
The story was a young person fired a powerful pistol and the pistol swung back and struck him in the face. It is something I would have never thought about as a young person. Of course, I never fired a pistol until I took a pistol course in college.

9. Great video
Kind of what I would have expected with a gun like that! Never saw the point myself. If you can't hit anything with it....

11. Holy Flaming Pintos, Batman!!!
Ouch, that looked painful!

That is why I wouldn't go big-game hunting with that kind of gun! Maybe a .44 Mag. Give me a .270 Short Mag rifle. With the right bullet, it will take anything in the Americas, and shoot nice and flat while doing so. AND not go flying backwards twenty feet!

8. Even if you were careful
it might still dislocate your wrist. I wouldn't dare fire that thing from a pistol. Few people could handle a .600 Nitro in a rifle, let alone a revolver. I wonder if the owner of it is stupid enough to shoot it.

10. The king of supersized handguns
This www.Slate.com article on the S&W Model 500 was a good read: http://www.slate.com/id/2141089/">With three times the muzzle energy of Dirty Harry's classic .44 Magnum
