Wintery mountian climbing photos (dial-up warning!)
Mt. Monadnock 12/11/05. 2 days after 15-18" of snow.

These photos really don't do it justice.

2. Absolutely gorgeous!!
Beautiful, beautiful scenes, wow :wow::toast::wow:

When you make it to Alaska, I'll buy the first beer. Here's a quick look at one of our local crazy person's idea of the Twin Towers (set up for ice climbing):

Some info on the local group: http://www.alaskaalpineclub.org/IceTower/WebCam.html

Where is Mt. Monadnock? It looks like Northeast? Fabulous views! I love winter, especially the contrast with snow and sky.

This is my first visit to the Outdoors forum, but it won't be my last!

I have a dear aunt and uncle who live in Jaffrey NH, right there on one side of Monadnock. I've been around the mountain several summers as a wee lad, but 10 years ago I finally made it up as an adult. Summer in my case, though...nothing near as adventurous as your pictures. Really gorgeous shots!

5. Nothing like a foot of snow to bring out the relief in the countryside
The granite really comes out well in those shots, too. Looks like a great trip.
