Looking for some information about DK, and hope you can help me!
Hi, Everyone.

Some of you will know who I am from the forums, but some may not. My screenname is Totally Committed, though most call me "TC" for short.

I admire Kucinich, and have for a long time. At the moment, I am looking for a candidate to support in the primaries, and DK is one of a few I am considering or waiting to enter. What has kept me out of his camp before was his stand on Choice. I was talking to a friend of mine this morning, and she was pretty sure he is now Pro-Choice.

Is he Pro-Choice? Does he agree that Roe v. Wade not only should be preserved, but should be a litmus test for SCOTUS nominees? Please feel free to PM me with any information or links where I can read up quickly or if you feel comfortable, just leave them here, and I will drop by again and pick up anything you think will be helpful.

Thank you all in advance for any recommendations you can give me. I could Google all day, but who knows if I'd find anything useful. You are his supporters, so who better than to give me pointers about that! :)

All my best,

TC

1. sry for the delay, I found this link on his voting record and present stance.
This website lets you track all candidates on certain issues with their voting records on those issues.

I hope you find it informative.

2. Thanks!
It helped a lot. I got most of the answers I was looking for, and a place to start Googling on the few left!

3. Another thing
That he has been on both sides of it makes him a good possibility for some national healing on this very divisive issue.

5. With Kucinich, it really isn't political opportunism
He still doesn't like abortion, but he understands the anti-woman agenda of the anti-abortion crowd and will not support it.

6. that link I gave gives a quote that explains it to my satisfaction

I don't think he did it to milk votes, it sounds like he is doing it out of conviction. A bit like Bill Clinton explaining why he submitted to the draft. Both thought hard about the issue then took their decision. Neither of them pretends it was an easy choice and both acknowlege the grey areas that existed.

I can't vote in the election but DK is the candidate with the best policies.

People paint him as pig-headed then accuse him of flip-flopping to pro-choice in the same breath. Thankfully he is tough and honest enough to take that in his stride. He'll be a great President.

on edit: sry if I gave the wrong impression, it was a sly dig at Mitt not DK
