Nasty posts in DK threads.
What is with the people who show up in DK threads just to be super nasty and ugly? I've seen some people do that to Hillary threads and Obama threads... but there seems to be an extra helping of derision in the poo-flinging posters in DK threads.

Is it just me? Or has anyone else noticed this? Maybe it's just my perspective.

1. I think it's because they're options are so limited.
They can't argue against him on issues or record, so they have to find another way to "swiftboat" him. "Electability" and personal attacks are the only thing in their tool box, and if voters actually HEAR him, he's a threat to the candidate that they are campaigning for.

The youtube videos available now of Kucinich speaking in various places and formats are putting out a strong message that the others can't effectively contest when people take DK seriously.

2. Well at least electability isn't childish BS.
That's what's been setting me off.

It's worse this time, isn't it? I don't think it got so nasty so regularly in 03-04.

3. I think you're right. It is worse this time.
I think that means that people are actually more concerned that he might be getting attention. :D

7. "if voters actually HEAR him"

Therein lies the rub. You can blame the MSM or the other candidates or whoever for the failure to get his message out, but I blame DK.

I have been checking his website for his schedule. It's really nice that he is spending a lot of time in Hawaii. That he's going to FL. and Vegas. That's great.

I'm in Iowa and where is Dennis? The local papers would get his message out. They cover everyone.
Tomorrow is the Harkin Steak Fry, a big event, where's Dennis?

The other candidates came to the fairs, walked in parades, gave interviews, got in the local papers and won supporters. They are here asking for our votes and giving speeches. People here give everyone a chance. Where's Dennis?

He has an outstanding message to get out there. Where is he?

As you can tell, I'm extremely frustrated with him.

5. He's no longer an obscure "boutique" candidate...
I think there is the sense now that he could gain traction, and that could throw a monkey-wrench into a few other candidate's plans for ultimate invinsibility.

I'm just glad to see him and hear him sounding real and believeable and ready to rumble. I'd love to see him get the nom!

TC

6. I've thought these guys were rent a trolls.
I've put a few on ignore until after the election. I like DK alot but I think he would not be an effective leader if elected. Just my opinion.

I think Hillary would be a poor leader as well.

8. Those of you here the last primary...
I remember things being very tranquil at the beginning. We were the peace and love and woo woo people, considered fairly harmless and people would come into the threads to be nice and say that they liked DK. THEN, all of a sudden one day after the Clark wars and the Dean wars and all the fighting between the "top tier" candidates had gotten so bad one very prominent poster mentioned what was happening and said that by far the nicest supporters were the Kucinich supporters. That was the last day I remember not being over run with nastiness in our threads.

Maybe it is just me but I do remember thinking how nice that was then feeling the next day like I had been hit over the head. Anyone else remember it that way?

and every time I read one of those nasty posts I remember that day and I remember thinking how nice it was to have that said about us then the next day cursing that it was ever posted.

11. It is worse and sooner this time, too.

But I can pick out a lot of the same Dennis haters.

I also wonder how many paid posters are here to flame certain other candidate supporters....I would say there is a whole lot.

I hate to see so much hate being allowed to gain traction but it seems to be the way politics is anymore...even within the same party.

12. It's because he was right in 2004
And he is going after triangulation, and it pisses off the supporters of those candidates. Being right was not nearly so obvious back then.

14. What is really neat, I think, is that DK himself
is riding above the fray, as it were. He OWNED Tucker Carlson, never getting made at Bowtie Boy's snide comments, but instead staying on point. He sounded like an adult who was politely putting up with a brat.

I tend to not read other's comments when I post on an open thread about Dennis, but simply type in my two cent's worth. This helps keep the blood pressure down.

13. Some supporters of other candidates fear the fact that Dennis' positions are
right in the mainstream of America.

If one goes to the Pew Research website you can see that the majority of the American public agrees with Kucinich's views on the issues.

Most of the other candidates hold positions on numerous issues that are out of step with the voters.

So it's only natural that some are afraid that if people take a serious look at Dennis that they might decide he's the candidate for them. So they attempt to marginalize Dennis so that people never get that far.
