What was behind the success in Hawaii?
Dennis had a very strong showing in Hawaii in the primaries compared to the other states, and I am wondering what led to that. Did more people in that state just happen to share his vision? Or was his campaign more organized, or did they do something in particular there to explain the strong turnout? Hopefully it was something that we can analyze and utilize in our own respective states.

2. Cultural Creatives were targeted and came out for DK...
...there are many self identified culural creatives in Hawaii, and god bless them... they showed out. I tried hard to keep the news from Hawaii underwraps from the field perspectie fearing that Kerry would send a last ditch effort to court the voters that are often forgotten in the primaries. That is what ended up happening. Kerry knew it, that is why he had Dennis campaigning in Hawaii for him during the General. DK resonates more the Kerry in Hawaii. And Dennis did a damn good job for Kerry there, even when there was a last ditch effort by the Bush & Co. to court the retired Repubs there.

3. Hawaii Kucinich supporter posted this on the old Kucinich forum
Anyway, once you figure out who to reach, come up with a system, we used a few different systems, and you ‘infect’ as many people as you can each day. Then let them know how they can ‘infect’ as many people throughout their day. Give them the materials they will need, and send them on their way. Get their phone number and name and add them to your group contacts. Give them a contact list as well, so everyone they meet with they can get the name and number from. Schedule a weekly meeting where you can all get together and consolidate lists.

Keep one main database of everyone, divided up into regional or precinct contacts, or you can organize by who entered the names. Divide the names and numbers weekly and split them into easily manageable amounts and give the corresponding lists to each precinct or neighborhood captain. Contact these people regularly, for events or to remind them to vote. Let them know you are there, supporting DK and want them to be involved. Hold them accountable. All of these people know people, and they all want to be involved, which is why they gave you their phone number in the first place.
