1. A great post/thread then, and a great read now.
Giving in to fear, backing the supposedly "safe" candidate didn't get the job done. I don't know what the final count would have been without the numerous instances of alleged fraud, but it obviously wasn't enough to combat the fraud itself.

I'll move forward supporting Dennis now, who, imo, is the politician currently offering the best hope of acting on our issues.

My primary vote for Dennis was the best vote I've ever cast. I'm glad I got the opportunity to do so.

2. Wow, thanks for bringing that back for us.
We were so hopeful. Still great information there. Yes you did try, we all did and I am certainly willing again. His sticker is still on the back of my truck and I am not ready or willing to take it off.

4. Me too...I took the Kerry bs off but left Dennis' on
I still have a few bumperstickers left...if anyone wants one...let me know.
I also have someother campaign goodies too...

I noticed the big blue yardsigns do NOT have a year, so we could use them again

Great thread...we sure kicked some ass, gave as good as we got....we had a great "crew"....sigh.....

6. I've still got my DK stuff, too
Two DK bumperstickers remain on my vehicle. I still have my DK yardsign in my garage-- the light blue model with "Hope Begins" on it. I may even have some leftover 'baseball cards' around the house somewhere... Somehow, I think Dennis may make another run in 2008. And now that Progressive Democrats of America is coming together, chances are he'll have a better base to run with.

7. know whats really cool about the PDA??
The guy who more or less started it...our former state director for DK...was sucked up by DK's Nat'l campaign about Dec/Jan last year...and by summer he had started Progressive Vote IIRC, which merged very quickly with the Dean folk and became Progressive Dems of America. (If I have any of this wrong...please feel free to correct me here :)

Anyhoo...the upshot is Spidel totally rocks and has so much energy & enthusiasm...if anyone can give us hope, its young folk like Kevin!!!

:hi:Kevin:yourock:

8. Yeah, I knew Kevin was from AZ
I've never met him in person, but have been in on teleconferences with him. He really is on top of his game!

Also, it looks like there may be some future link-up between PDA and DFA. The two organizations share similar goals, but I don't know if it's the right kind of matchup.

I've heard Dean say that DFA would possibly support certain moderate Republicans, if they meet their criteria. As a Democrat I don't think I could do that. Also, DFA seems to me like a very top-down organization-- except when it comes to fundraising-- much like the Dean campaign was. PDA, OTOH, is totally grassroots from the ground up, and came about as a way to unite the disparate state progressive caucuses that emerged after the primaries.

Nothing against Dean, of course, I'm glad he's doing what he can do to help us all out. I just have worries about a solid grassroots organization getting co-opted and the message getting diluted.

All said, 2006 will be a VERY good year for progressives-- especially if they stand up to the radical right and run as progressive Democrats!

10. thanks for the clarification.....
Then at this point there is no "official" connection between PDA and DFA? OK then, that makes more sense...couldn't quite get the connection there ( cause it was mostly just in my foggy brain then:) )

I share your concern about the message being diluted ( again - no offense to Dean- his voice is certainly needed too)...I just see Dennis' direction and concerns as very different than Dean's.

Yeah, Kevin is something else....and I mean that as a high compliment! He has a strong and focused vision of the true Progressive Dem and I really see great things for his future...and ours!!

11. *grin*
I packed up everything that doesn't have a year on it and stored it for the next run. No I don't have confirmation but the movement to draft is already underway and there are plenty of us wanting him to run again.

I'd personally LOVE to see Dennis Kucinich just shred Evan Bayh in a primary debate!

3. How did I miss that thread?

That has to be one of the few DK threads that I didn't participate in.

5. WOW! What a terrific thread!
I remember that one well! It was about a month after I joined DU.

What strikes me is how prescient (sp?) we were about our predictions, even way back then. Both the good ones and the bad ones, unfortunately.

Thanks for the memories! :hi:

12. Reread the thread and realized that I haven't seen
diamondsoul, Mairead, or revcarol for ages. They haven't been banned (not that I could think of any reason that they would be).

14. Diamondsoul and Mairead post regularly at the Kucinich forum
I miss revcarol, Terwilliger and Kanary also. I think a lot of Kucitizens have dropped off this forum.
