This article gives part of the story:
http://www.pasadenastarnews.com/news/ci_5109409On a personal level, I must say everyone was overjoyed with surprise to see Cindy Sheehan. In her own modest way, she really has an electrifying presence. Before she even spoke, as she was walking to her seat, the whole room stood up to cheer her and thank her for attending.
But the big electrification came from Kucinich. Kucinich is electrifying, not just for his ferocious integrity, but that man is a ball of energy! There was a stage upon which he could have spoken, but instead he spoke to us at ground level, close to the crowd. The only time he used the stage was when an audience member asked him if there was anything he could do to stop the military industrial complex. Kucinich said, "The short answer is yes. Let me show you the long answer". He leapt to the stage (we're talking about a four foot vertical jump!) and held his arms perpendicular to his body, dangling over the edge of the stage. As we held our breath, Kucinich smiled at us and yelled, "Look! NO STRINGS ATTACHED!" The crowd laughed heartily, then went nuts with applause. He left the stage to chants of "DENNIS! DENNIS! DENNIS!"
I love this guy. He answered everyone's questions, some of them hard hitting, these were definitely not pre-screened plants. I was able to have him autograph my copy of A Prayer for America after the questions outside the church. I told him that reading it was what prompted me to vote for him in the 2004 primary. He looked me in the eye, thanked me and shook my hand. Dennis is the real Real Deal.
